: This research was approved by Mbarara University of science and Technology Faculty of Medicine Research ethics committee (REC) ref: MUST-2022–724), Uganda national council of science and technology (UNCST) ref: HS3091ES and the office of Hospital director Kabale Regional referral hospital before commencement. Participants received detailed information about the study and only recruited after obtaining written informed consents. Coded identifiers instead of names were used to protect participant’s confidentiality. We followed the principles outlined in the Helsinki Declaration and the CIOMS-2002 (Council for International Organizations of Medical Sciences) guidelines for human research, aiming to prevent any form of physical or moral harm.
