: This study adhered to the principles outlined in the Declaration of Helsinki. Ethical approval was obtained from the Wachamo University College of Health and Medical Sciences Institutional Health Research Ethics Review Committee with reference number of WCU/SDS/607/16. A letter of cooperation was provided to hospitals in the study area. Before starting the data collection, the medical directorates of each hospital provided written and signed permission. The need for written informed consent to participate was waived by the institutional health research ethics review committee due to retrospective nature of the study.
