: The ethical approval was obtained from the Ethics Review Committee, Faculty of Medicine, Colombo, Sri Lanka. This study was explained to the deputy director of De Soysa Maternity hospital Colombo and his permission was obtained to carry out this research at the professorial unit of the hospital and to access the operating theatre. The samples were obtained only from the pregnant women who were willing to participate in the study and written consent were obtained from them. Information sheet and the necessary details regarding the study were provided to them.
