: This research was conducted by respecting ethical standards according to the Declaration of Helsinki (1964). The clearance was granted by the University of Global Health Equity Institutional Review Board [UGHE-IRB/2025/414], the Ministry of Health [No 20/1315/DPMEHF/2025]. Kibagabaga Level II Teaching Hospital [No 469/HOP. KIBAG/2025] and Muhima district hospital administration provided permission before data collection. Data collectors out of health facilities of interest were trained on study participants’ rights, confidentiality and ethical norms. Informed consents were obtained from all study participants before starting the interview, and data were anonymously collected. The privacy and confidentiality of the study participants were ensured throughout and after the study. No benefits for study participants. Study participants were informed that there was no risk of withdrawal from the study.
