This study was in accordance with the ethical standards of the institutional research committee and the Helsinki declaration. In accordance with the Ethical Guidelines for Medical and Health Research Involving Human Subjects in Japan, the requirement for written informed consent was waived owning to the retrospective nature of this study. Instead, an opt-out method was implemented by providing information about the study on the hospital’s website, allowing patients the opportunity to decline participation.
