Ethics approval and consent to participate
: The Ethics and Confidentiality Committee of the National Information Governance Board have authorised the annual National Cancer Patient Experience Survey under Section 251 approval from the UK Secretary of State for Health. Additional ethical approval was not required for the secondary Sarcoma UK survey. All data were collected and handled in concordance with the Declaration of Helsinki. Consent was implicit through patient completion of the Sarcoma UK questionnaire. Explicit consent was not required in accordance with Section 251 of the NHS Act 2006.
