: All animal experiments were performed according to European directive 2010/63/UE and Italian law (DL 26/2014). Experimental protocols were reviewed and approved by the Institutional Animal Care and Use Committee (“Comitato per il Benessere Animale”) of the University of Bologna, and the Italian Ministry of Health with letters n. 71,674-x/6, 12,511-x/10 and 4783-X/10 (supervisor: Prof. Patrizia Nanni).
