Ethics approval and consent to participate
: The trial is conducted in accordance with the Declaration of Helsinki. Individuals participate in the study voluntarily and provide written informed consent prior to beginning the study. Individuals are informed that they can cease their participation in the study at any time without disclosing reasons for their cancellation and without negative consequences for their future medical care. The ethics review board and all responsible ethics committees of The University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center approved the study protocol. This protocol underwent extensive and multi-level review including scientific evaluation by the MD Anderson Scientific Review Committee (SRC, formerly known as the Clinical Review Committee) and Psychosocial, Behavioral, and Health Services Research Committee (PBHSRC) and ethical evaluation by the Institutional Review Board (IRB). The MD Anderson Offices of Human Subjects Protection and Protocol Review and Reporting further support regulatory oversight, review, and monitoring of protocols.
