: The study, including the verbal consent process, was approved by the University of Kansas Medical Center Institutional Review Board. The IRB noted that written consent was not necessary since the research presented no more than minimal risk of harm to subjects and involved no procedures for which written consent is normally required outside of the research context. Verbal consent was obtained from each participant prior to the interview. Potential participants were provided a study information sheet outlining the informed consent elements and notifying them that scheduling and completing an interview constituted consent to participate. Participants were reminded at the time of the interview that participation and response to any question was voluntary. Consent was documented as a scheduled interview and verified by the completed interview.
