Ethics approval and consent to participate
: Before conducting the study, ethical clearance was obtained from School of Medicine, Ethical review committee, University of Gondar. An official letter was obtained from Gondar University College of Medicine and the Health Sciences Department of Optometry and Hawassa City Health Bureau. Besides, a permission letter was obtained from each school director after a brief explanation of the purpose of the study for school directors. Written informed consent was obtained from each study participant after explaining the aim of the study to proceed to the examination and interview step. The confidentiality of the data was ensured and the consent declared that participants’ participation is voluntary. They were also informed that there is no any risk through participating in this survey. It was also clarified that they have full right to refuse from participating in the study and to withdraw at any time they wish. They would also have a full right to contact and ask the authors whatever they want.
