Ethics approval and consent to participate

: The Federal Hospitals Act §15a Abs. 3a states that a vote from the Viennese ethics committee is not obligatory for this study design. In the medical retina unit of the Rudolf Foundation Hospital, patients sign a waiver as part of their informed consent form for treatment or diagnostics indicating that anonymized clinical data may be used for scientific research unless patients specifically opted not to do so.
