The mobile ocular alignment app that was the subject of this study was developed previously through a collaboration between Massachusetts Eye and Ear and EyeNexo LLC, funded by an NIH Small Business Grant 2R44EY025902–02. MEE owns the rights to the app and is negotiating a license to EyeNexo which plans to commercialize the app under the brand name “EyeTurn”. Drs. Luo, Houston, and Pundlik have a financial interest in EyeNexo, LLC. Their financial interests in were reviewed and are managed by Massachusetts Eye and Ear and Partners HealthCare in accordance with their conflict of interest policies. Data collectors were masked to minimize any potential bias related to this or other factors. Data processing and analysis was done by someone without financial interest in the app.
