: Before commencement of the data collection, ethical approval was obtained from Bahir Dar University, Faculty of chemical and food Engineering, Research Ethics Committee (BiT/FCFE/0028/2011). Letter of approval was also obtained from Bahir Dar City Administration Health Department (BCAHD/1589/12). Information statement that explained the purpose of the study, benefits and risks of the study, and their rights during the study were explained/read to respondents. Then, mothers were asked to sign the consent form if they agree to participate in the study. In addition, informed consent was obtained from mothers to take anthropometric indices of their children. All methods were carried out in accordance with the principles of the Declaration of Helsinki.
