: This study adhered to the ethical principles stipulated in the Helsinki Declaration of research in human subjects. Ethical clearance was obtained from the University of Gondar Institutional Review Board which belongs to the University of Gondar. The human participant’s reference number for this study was Ref. No. 300/02/2021. Informed written consent was obtained from the parents or guardians of the children’s participants aged below 16 years. The participants were the parents or guardians of the children because the children were admitted to emergency ward due to serious illness, they not really participants for data collection. To collect accurate and valid data, the data was collected from their parents and chart review. For participants aged above 16, informed consent was obtained from the participants. Information was given to all participants about the purpose, risk, benefit, the confidentiality of the information, and the voluntary nature of the participation in the study.
