: Ethical clearance was obtained from the institutional review board at the College of Health Science and Medicine, Wolaita Sodo University in Ethiopia with an ethical approval reference number CRCSO77/0113. Permission letter together with the ethical clearance letter was presented to Shashemene town health office and permission was obtained sequentially from this office and its lower administrative structures. Informed written consent was obtained from each participants. Caregivers with a high perceived risk of poor feeding practices were counseled about appropriate feeding practices after the completion of the interview.
