: Ethical approval was obtained from the Muhimbili University of Health and Allied Sciences Ethical Board Committee MUHAS-REC-06–2023-1770. Permission letters for data collection were also obtained from each health facility. The study was conducted in full compliance with the ethical principles outlined in the Declaration of Helsinki, ensuring the protection of participants' rights, safety, and well-being. The data collection process did not interfere with the routine care provided at the clinic. Informed consent to participate was obtained from parents or legal guardians of participants younger than 18 years and from participants older than 18 years. Participants who were found to have moderate to severe depressive symptoms were contacted and channeled to a clinical psychologist for further evaluation and therapy.
