Declarations
:
: The present study was approved by the Medicines & Healthcare products regulatory Agency, who granted access to a subset of the Clinical Practice Research datalink (CPRD). ISAC Protocol number: 20_000097. In CPRD (Clinical Practice Research Datalink) research, consent to participate is handled in a way, that since GP practices contribute data to CPRD, while individual patient consent isn’t needed for this initial data sharing due to anonymization, patients can choose to opt out of having their data shared. CPRD provides access to anonymized primary care data for research purposes. In order to do research studies using CPRD data, the study has to be approved by the Medicines & Healthcare products regulatory agency, and access was granted. CPRD has a rigorous Research Data Governance (RDG) process that ensures research using its data adheres to ethical principles, including the Declaration of Helsinki. Researchers must apply for access and receive approval before using CPRD data for research, ensuring data protection.
