: The 2013 Namibian WHO-GSHS was approved by the Institutional Review Boards of the Namibian Ministry of Health and Social Services. The study was supported by WHO and the US Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. Policies laid out by the Ministry of Education regarding consent procedures for participation in students surveys were followed including detachment of identifier information. Official written permissions were obtained from Namibian Ministry of Health and Social Services, and the Ministry of Education, the selected schools, and classroom teachers. Written informed consent were obtained from students, while an additional written parental consent was obtained from parents of participants aged younger than 18 years.
