: The study was approved by the Ministry of Health and Population (MOHP) and the Medical Research Ethics Committee of the National Research Centre with an ethical registration approved number: 17034. Written informed consent was taken from the parents or guardians of all children enrolled in the study (mothers/or fathers/ or any caregivers). A right thumbprint was used as a signature for participants who were unable to write. For any caregivers under the age of 18, parental or legal guardian consent was obtained. The study was fully voluntary. Participants were well informed about their rights to withdraw at any time. Data was collected in a confidential manner, and it was de-identified, de-linked, and stored in a safe location. The conduct of the study complied with the International Ethical Guidelines for Biomedical Research Involving Human Subjects [], and that information disclosure “Making sure patients understand” was guaranteed according to the recommendations of the Egyptian patients and guardians’ perception about clinical informed consent as a preferred purpose for IC practices [].
