: This study was approved by the Ethics Committee of Shahid Beheshti University of Medical Sciences on 2022/08/09 under ID IR.SBMU.PHARMACY.REC.1401.096, accepted in the Iranian Registry of Clinical Trial (IRCT) under the number IRCT20100127003210N26. All patients in this study signed the informed consent form. Adult participants voluntarily agreed to take part in the research and were given a signed informed consent form after being fully briefed about the study. They were also told of their right to withdraw from the study at any time. For ethical reasons, the participants were informed when entering the study that they may receive either L-arginine or placebo.
