: Under the Netherlands Agreement on Medical Treatment Act (WGBO), patient record research does not require informed consent if individual patients cannot be identified from the data. Our study received approval from the internal scientific research committee of Parnassia Groep, which determined that the study was outside the scope of the Netherlands Medical Research Involving Human Subjects Act (WMO) and confirmed that informed consent was not necessary. In compliance with applicable Dutch laws, all researchers were bound by strict confidentiality agreements.
