: For research and quality assurance purposes, all calls to the Lifeline are routinely recorded. An automated message at the beginning of each call informs callers that their call may be recorded for these purposes. Unless callers indicate their wish to opt out, informed consent to participate is assumed, and all participants included in this study provided informed consent. All procedures involving human participants were conducted in accordance with the ethical standards of the institutional research committee and with the 1964 Declaration of Helsinki and its later amendments. This study received ethical approval from the Research Ethics Committee of the Institut National de Santé Publique, d’Épidémiologie Clinique et de Toxicologie - Liban (INSPECT-LB) at the Lebanese University, as well as ethical clearance from the National Mental Health Program (NMHP) at the Ministry of Public Health.
