: The study was approved by the Research Ethics Committee of Mbarara University of Science and Technology (MUIRC 1/7; June 6, 2016. Study number 160121).Written Consent was sought from the respondents to participate in the study and identification numbers were accorded to all participants for confidentiality. Participants’ defined privacy was accorded during collection of data and samples. Written consent was sought from the participants to publish and disseminate the research findings.Human blood samples were collected in the households of the study participants according to the Clinical and Laboratory Standards Institute (i.e.: National Committee for Clinical Laboratory Standards; Procedures for the Collection of Diagnostic Blood Specimens by venipuncture.
