: The data of the Canadian Community Health Survey (CCHS) are collected by Statistics Canada, mandated by the Canadian government under the Statistics Act. Participation in this survey is voluntary and respondents gave their informed consent to take part in the study. Statistics Canada established a document describing the policies and procedures to mitigate risk to respondents of Statistics Canada surveys and to protect their confidentiality. Link is available here:. This study is a secondary analysis using an existing database shared by Statistics Canada and does not require an ethics review.
