Ethics approval and consent to participate
: The study received ethical approval from the Addis Ababa University ethical review committee and the requirements of the surveillance system data sharing policy were complied with. Permission to access and use documents was obtained from administrative bodies at the respective institutions. Regarding the data collected through questionnaire, participation in the study was based on each participant’s ability to give informed verbal consent. The consent form was reviewed by the ethics committee as part of the questionnaire and got approved- given high illiteracy in the study area. Each study participants’ agreement status was recorded in each filled out questionnaire. Information relating to individual children was anonymous and there was judged to be no associated risk with respect to the study since the information was mainly gathered from surveillance data, data from health institutions and interview.
