Ethics approval and consent to participate

: Ethical clearance was obtained from the Ethical Review Committee of Institute of Public Health, College of Medicine and Health Sciences, University of Gondar. Permission letter was also obtained from each hotel manager. Informed verbal consent was obtained prior to data collection after those hotel housekeepers in Gondar city hotels, who were selected to participate, were informed about the purpose of the study, the importance of their participation and withdraw at any time. Furthermore, all pertinent information (risks, procedures and alternatives to participation) were provided for the selected study participants and given sufficient time to consider whether or not to participate in the study. The ethical review committee approved the study and the procedures outlined for the informed verbal consent before the data collection considering the likelihood that the study participants may be of illiterate or semi-literate.
