Ethics approval and consent to participate
: This research was undertaken as part of a wider PhD project. A qualitative interview study conducted as part of the needs assessment for this doctoral research was granted ethical approval by the Yorkshire and Humber – Bradford Leeds Research Ethics Committee (Ref No: 15/YH/0073). Written consent was obtained from all participants prior to undertaking the interviews. A substantial amendment was made to recruit carers to stakeholder groups from the research register. The ethics committee regarded stakeholder involvement as consultation work, therefore no additional approval was required to conduct groups and use audio-recorders.
