Ethics approval and consent to participate
: The project was approved of by the Regional Ethical Review Board of Stockholm in accordance with the Declaration of Helsinki (Dnr: 2007/762–31; 2009/23–32, 2009/1927–32; 2011/1710–32).The used administrative register data are administratively collected by Statistics Sweden and by the Board of Health and Welfare, respectively, for all people living in Sweden without specific consent from them. The data were delivered by those two authorities to the PI of the dataset (Alexanderson) in anonymized format. The Swedish law on Research Ethics states that research use of register data that has been given without consent and contain sensitive information, such as health conditions must get approval from a Regional Ethical Review Board as well as from the state authority holding the data which has been done here.
