Ethics approval and consent to participate
: Ethical clearance was obtained from Ethical Review Board of Wolkite University (Ref.No 139/11). Support letter was obtained from Abeshge District Health and Education Offices to each primary school. After explaining aims of the study, written informed consent was obtained from the parents/guardians of the children. Confidentiality of the data was maintained at all levels. School children who were positive for <i>S. mansoni</i> and STHs were treated following national guidelines at the nearby health centers.
