Ethics approval and consent to participate
: Approval for the conduct of the CCHS, CHMS, GSS, and HBSC was obtained from Health Canada’s Research Ethics Board and written informed consent and assent were obtained from all participants. In the case of children and youth, parents were required to provide written consent and participants provided assent. Approval for the conduct of the HBSC was also granted by the Queen’s University Research Ethics Board. No additional ethics approval was required to access the data.
