Ethics approval and consent to participate

: Written Informed consent was obtained from all participants in this study. The consent process involved the research assistant informing the research participants about the study with an information sheet and if they were interested, sharing an informed consent form. The consent form was then shared/ read out and explained, as required. Each participant had the choice to take the consent form with them, to review and discuss with friends or family and schedule the interview for another day, or to give consent the same day and participate in the interview. Each participant signed on the researchers’ copy of the informed consent form with their initials or thumbprint, depending on what they were comfortable with and kept a copy, that had the contact of the lead researcher and the secretariat of the ethics committee. Ethics approval to conduct this study and obtain written informed consent was obtained from the Committee for Medical Ethics, Ghent University Teaching Hospital (EC/2016/1252).
