: The study protocol was reviewed and ethical clearance was issued by the Gambia College’s Research Committee for the study. All methods were carried out in accordance with relevant guidelines and regulations. Before the commencement of the study, ethical approval was also obtained from URR Regional Health Directorate of the Ministry of Health and the community leaders of sampled communities. The people were sensitized about the nature of the study in their local languages (Mandinka, Fula, Wolof, and Serahule). Participation in the study was entirely voluntary and only those that accepted to be part of the study were recruited. A written informed consent form was signed by each participant who accepted to be enrolled in the study.
