: The study received ethical clearance from the University of Cape Town Faculty of Health Sciences Human Research Ethics Committee (HREC 301/2017 & 356/2019) as well as the Western Cape Education Department (WCED 20170706–2719). All participants were under the age of 18, only when parents provided written, informed consent to participate in the study were they invited to complete a learner informed, assent form if they agreed to participate in the study. All methods were performed in accordance with international guidelines and regulations, as well as the protection of confidentiality and personal information as outlined in the Protection of Personal Information Act 4 of 2013, South Africa.
