: The study protocol was approved by the University Research Ethics Committee (KEBN) at the University of Opole (Decision no. 1/2020) for cross-national research. Written informed consent was obtained from all participants, since information about the study and informed consent was included in the first part of the questionnaire. Participants were assured about the anonymity and confidentiality of the survey and were told that they may refuse to participate in the study at any time in accordance with the 1964 Helsinki Declaration and its later amendments or comparable ethical standards (like the APA ethical standards). According to the World Health Organization (WHO) Guidelines on Ethical Issues in Public Health Surveillance, a surveillance study in emergency outbreak situations is clearly exempted from ethical review and oversight WHO guidelines on ethical issues in public health surveillance []. Our online survey was applied in May-June 2020, during the first wave of the COVID-19 pandemic.
