: This study was conducted in accordance with the ethical principles and guidelines for involving humans as participants as outlined in the Declaration of Helsinki. The local institutional review board, Scientific and Ethics Research unit (SERU) of the Kenya Medical Research Institute (KEMRI) approved the study (Ref KEMRI/SERU/CGMR-C/108/3594). Permission to work in the HIV specialized clinic was obtained from the Department of Health, County government of Kilifi (Ref HP/KCHS/VOL.VIX/65). Participation in the study was voluntary and all participants provided written informed consent for their participation. All participants were reimbursed their travel costs to and from the interview centre.
