: Study protocols for each of the surveys were approved by the Cardiff University School of Social Sciences Research Ethics Committee. Informed parental opt-out consent and informed child assent were obtained. Children’s parents were sent written information about the study and were asked to return an opt-out slip if they did not want their child to participate in the survey. Before the commencement of surveys, children were informed that data would be anonymised, treated confidentially and that they were free to withdraw at any point. In 2019 a paper form was completed by children prior to participation to indicate informed assent, while in 2021, the electronic survey required children to provide informed assent before proceeding to begin the survey. All methods were performed in accordance with the relevant guidelines and regulations.
