: We, the authors, were not involved in any part of the survey and data collection and we are using it as secondary data. The way the data was collected is as follows. The EDHS 2016 survey protocol, including biomarker collection, was reviewed and approved by the Federal Democratic Republic of Ethiopia Ministry of Science and Technology and the Institutional Review Board of ICF International. Additionally, written consent was obtained from each respondent. Moreover, all methods were performed per the relevant guidelines and regulations and informed consent was obtained from all subjects or if subjects are under 18, from a parent and/or legal guardian. For analysis, the investigators received permission from the public domain MEASUREDHS website. No patients were involved in this study. A cross-sectional Demographic and Health Survey was conducted by the MEASUREDHS program. The public was involved in community information and written consent was obtained from each respondent. Members of the public were selected for participation in the survey via probability-based sampling. Data have been shared with development agencies supporting HIV and also publicly accessible to anyone from the MEASUREDHS website.
