: The National Health Research Ethics Committee of Nigeria’s Federal Ministry of Health (NHREC Approval number: NHREC/01/01/10/2007–26/03/2019) and the Institutional Review Board of Social Solutions International (U.S.) reviewed and approved the research protocol and tools. The researchers sought and obtained informed consents from the participating mothers and care givers during the 2018 NDHS data collection and before interviews and FGDs were conducted during the 2019 VASA study. All methods were performed in compliance with the institution guidelines, rules and regulations.
