: Measure DHS provided approval of the use of the 2018 ZDHS female dataset for further analysis. National and international Institutional Review Boards (IRBs) at the Tropical Diseases Research Centre (TDRC) in Zambia and at ICF approved the protocols for the ZDHS 2018 survey methodology, biomarker measurements, and all instruments prior to data collection [CitationRef removed]. During data collection, informed consent to participate in the survey was obtained from all women and separate informed consent was further sought from all women selected to respond to the domestic violence module. Therefore, the authors of this paper did not seek ethical clearance or informed written consent from women. In addition, there have been no attempts to either identify survey participants in the dataset or use of the dataset for any other purposes other than that approved by DHS Program. Furthermore, all methods were carried out in accordance with relevant guidelines and regulations.
