: Not applicable. This study retrospectively analyzed publicly available data on sanitation facilities and reports of exposed feces. These datasets do not include human subject data (e.g. no individual-level data on who reported exposed feces – or who recorded/received the report – via the 311 municipal reporting system). No human subjects participated in this study, therefore it was not necessary to seek ethics approval or consent to participate.
