: We obtained permission to utilize the AFP surveillance data from Uganda Expanded Program on Immunization, in the Ministry of Health. The obtained data did not have any personal identifiers. Additionally, human consent to participate was not required since our study was not involving human subjects. The Ministry of Health and the Office of Associate Director for Science, U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention therefore determined that this activity was an operational evaluation of routine surveillance program data with the primary intent of improving public health practice. Obtained data were kept confidential, stored in password protected computers, and were not shared with anyone outside the investigation team.
