: Our study protocol was approved by the U.S. Naval Medical Research Unit No. 6 (NAMRU-6) Institutional Review Board (IRB) (#NAMRU6.2014.0021), which includes Peruvian representation, is registered as part of the Peruvian network of ethics committees and complies with US Federal and Peruvian regulations governing the protections of human subjects, and the Regional Health Authority (DIRESA), the local branch of the Peruvian Ministry of Health.
