: No ethics approval was required as this study used cross-sectional data which is available freely and publicly with all identifier information removed. To access and analyze the dataset we obtained an official permission from UNICEF MICS headquarter New York. The survey protocol was approved by technical committee of the Government of Bangladesh lead by Bangladesh Bureau of Statistics (BBS). The participants’ anonymity and confidentiality were assured. Also, written informed consent was obtained from all mothers in the survey by MICS team during field work. All methods were carried out in accordance with relevant guidelines and regulations.
