: The study protocol received approval from ethics committees that implement the ethical principles for medical research involving human subjects: the Guatemalan MoH’s Institutional Review Board (Protocol 18–2017) as well as the Institutional Review Boards of the Institute of Nutrition of Central America and Panama (CIE-REV 071/2017) and all of the other collaborators (Tulane University, the Institute for Clinical Effectiveness and Health Policy, and the Colorado Multi-Institutional Review Board). For all interviews and FGDs a written informed consent was read, participants signed it, and received a copy.
