: The research was conducted within the framework of the student scientific society. The presented topic “Protective vaccinations in the control and prevention of infectious diseases—knowledge of adult Poles in this field. Preliminary results” was part of a large project entitled "Medical knowledge of non-professionals as a predictor of health behaviour" submitted to the Bioethics Committee at the Medical University of Silesia in Katowice. In the justification of the opinion, by the decision from 17.10.2017 (KNW/0022/KB/223/17), the Bioethics Committee stated that the research based on a survey is not a medical experiment and that neither the evaluation nor the ethical approval of the committee is required to conduct it. Due to the method of obtaining completed questionnaires (described in the Methods section), additional written consent was not obtained from the respondents due to the researchers' willingness to ensure their complete anonymity. This was described in detail in the study protocol (presented to each respondent, in the form of an attachment to the blank questionnaire), which stated that due to the chosen method of selecting the respondents, completing the questionnaire indicates the respondent’s written informed consent to participate in the study.
