: The project was approved by the Research Ethics Committee (REC) of the Pontifical Catholic University of Rio Grande do Sul (No. 3,262,609) and of the School of Public Health of the State Secretariat of Health of Rio Grande do Sul (ESP/SES/RS) (No. 3,423,690). The documental review of the SIM was carried out via written authorization from the Director of the Department of Information Technology Management (DGTI) of SES/RS. To ratify the use of the data exclusively for the purposes of the research, a term of responsibility and confidentiality was signed by the main researcher and sent to the DGTI and to the REC of the ESP/SES/RS. The study followed the ethical and legal principles established in Resolution No. 466/12 of the National Health Council [CitationRef removed], guaranteeing the privacy and anonymity of the information gathered in the MIS, and that the data identifying the children or their families would not be disclosed in any way. Consent to participate is not applicable because only secondary data was employed.
