: All methods were carried out in accordance with relevant guidelines and regulations. As outlined in [CitationRef removed], for the M3 data collection more broadly, “ethics approval for the study was obtained from the Research Ethics Boards of the Universities of Alberta, Manitoba, Moncton, Waterloo and the University Health Network, Toronto. Some LTC homes had an individual review committee, and if so, ethics approval was sought. Informed written consent was obtained by the researchers directly from residents who had the capacity to consent, or from their ADM.” Additionally for this secondary analysis of the M3 project, ethics approval was obtained by the University of Waterloo Office of Research Ethics (ORE: ORE/30405).
