: As acute hepatitis C is a notifiable disease, the investigation information is collected by public health authorities under the Communicable Disease Control Act in Taiwan. Informed consent is not required for the case investigation. Data obtained from the NNDSS and CIS was for public health surveillance and intervention purposes, and the data used in this study was analyzed anonymously. TCDC determined this study a public health response and exempt from Institutional Review Board of TCDC approval.
