: The planning, conduct and reporting of the study was in line with the Declaration of Helsinki. The steering committee of the Infectious Disease Control and Vaccinations of the Department of Health Security at the Finnish institute of Health and Welfare waived the need for institutional review board approval as only information on the scope of infectious diseases epidemic intelligence activities conducted in each surveyed country were to be collected.All respondents were informed about the purpose of the study and consented to participate, by ticking a box before filling in the online survey.This work did not include any experience on humans/animals or the use of animal/human tissues or samples.
