Ethical approvals from the Norwegian Regional Committees for Medical and Health Research (REK) were acquired before the initiation of the original TRIP-study (4.2007.81), the 7-year follow-up (2014/618/REK midt), the TRIP-tann oral health sub-study (2015/639/REK sør-øst) and the TRIP-bein sub-study (REK nr 2015/2028). Informed consent was given by the parents/legal guardians of all the children participating in the oral examination and all the children who gave blood samples.
